What The Heaven?
pivoting and more pivoting
What’s up, nonbelievers, doubters, and skeptics?
I started my Jesus Unfollower podcast over 3 years ago. That’s wild.
It was the day that I was let go from my job.
It started so strong. I was publishing every single week for about a year and a half… and then I got burned out.
And I got a job working for Christians, so I started wondering what would happen if they found my content.
And I also wondered if I even wanted to make this type of content anymore.
So, the podcast went away for about 6 months, and then it came back… for about another month or two.
To be honest, I’ve always felt torn on the podcast and YouTube… should I do one or the other?
Should I do both?
Should I do neither?
Here’s what I’ve come to realize: you can’t force yourself to do something you don’t want to do, even if you think it may be needed.
I realized something else: I want to have fun with creating content.
Talking about the bible, arguments for or against god, what’s happening in the news… that stuff doesn’t really interest me a lot these days.
But what does interest me is comedy.
I love comedy podcasts. I love making people laugh, too.
So, I’ve decided to pivot in my content creation.
(I mean, you knew that gif was coming, right?)
I want to do something that I will enjoy and something that will be sustainable for the long haul.
So, after 3 years of on-again, off-again inconsistency, I shut down the Jesus Unfollower podcast for good.
The good news is that I’m starting a brand new podcast that will be me (and sometimes guests) reviewing Christian movies.
It combines the mission of creating community for nonbelievers with comedy, and it just feels right.
For the first time in a while, I have clarity.
The podcast is called “What The Heaven Did I Just Watch?”
The trailer is already out, and the first episode will come out on St Patrick’s Day: March 17th, 2023.
I feel aligned.
I’m not an angry atheist. I don’t want to debate people.
I want to have fun. I want to laugh. That’s where I feel the most in my element.
And that’s the content I’m going to make!
And even if you’re not interested in the new podcast, I do plan on sending out weekly newsletters of humorous internet findings and comments that I get…
Like this gem:
Thanks, jack.
And thank YOU for consuming any of the content I’ve put out the past few years. I’ll still be doing Jesus Unfollower content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
I hope you come along and subscribe to the new podcast. It’s going to be a blast!
Remember: you don’t need a god to be good!
Kevin
