What’s up nonbelievers, doubters, and skeptics?
I got some unexpected news yesterday: I was fired from my job—not for poor performance or anything; they just decided to let go of their W2 employees because they’re going a different direction.
I was shocked to say the least. Things had been bumpy over the past few months—my boss was inconsistent with communication and indecisive on some strategies. Things felt off.
To be honest, I’m still reeling a bit.
My coworker (who was also let go) messaged me after the fact and said that she has faith things are going to work out for her.
She said “I know that you don’t have faith, and you probably think I’m stupid for saying that.”
That’s not true. I don’t think she’s stupid at all.
I have faith, too, but it’s not in any deity; I have faith in myself.
I have faith that I will do what I need to do to make things okay for myself.
I believe in me. I don’t need a savior.
The Most Important Work I’ve Done
I don’t really believe in having an innate purpose or anything, but the work I do at Jesus Unfollower is the most important work I’ve ever done.
That may sound silly to some people.
They think I only make dumb TikToks or silly memes.
They think that my goal in life is to bash Christians.
In reality, my goal is to provide comedic relief and community for nonbelievers.
Religion is some heavy shit.
For those who want more community, I’ve created ExChristianCommunity.com:
A private community, free from trolls and those who invalidate our experiences.
A place where people can post about what they’re going through and others can respond.
It’s been awesome so far. The community is growing.
I’m looking for 10 more people to be founding members.
As a founding member, you get access to spaces where you can chat with other ex-Christians and virtual hangouts/calls every month for just $5/month. You’ll also get the 😈 devil emoji founding member tag to display proudly, and your rate will never increase!
Once those 10 spots fill up, I will be raising the price to $9/month!
I know that there might be some people who take issue with me charging for a community, and I’m okay with that.
No one is obligated to join, of course. It’s just for people who want a private community and to support what I do.
So, please consider becoming a founding member of the XCC!
I don’t really have more energy to put into writing right now. I’m still trying to process what happened yesterday.
Subscribe to this newsletter if you haven’t already, and I’ll be in your inbox next week!
Remember: you don’t need a god to be good!
